Babysitting Dad
Cheri was sprawled on the couch in the family room, flipping through channels without much interest, when her phone rang. It was Elsa. “Hey, girl! Want to grab a bite? That new taco place downtown is calling my name.” Cheri sighed. “I wish I could, but I can’t. I have to babysit.” “Babysit? Who? I thought your parents were going out.” Cheri hesitated, then decided to just say it. “My dad. Mom hypnotized him to think that he’s my little sister. Now I have to babysit him.” Elsa burst out laughing. “Okay, good one. Seriously, who are you watching?” “I’m serious, Elsa. It’s true.” There was a pause on the other end. “Wait… you’re not joking?” “Nope.” |
