Daddy's Little Princess Wayne opened the sealed padded manila envelope. He had been anxiously waiting for it to arrive ever since he ordered it. He forced open the glued flap instead of using a knife or letter opener to cut across the top. Inside in a white sealed cardboard box, no bigger than three by two by two was the device. It looked like a car door opener. The device itself was about an inch long, three-quarters of an inch wide, and three-eights of an inch thick. It looked like a simple garage door opener with an oval button which lit a red light when pressed. It didn't have any other markings to indicate it's function. It didn't need to. The device was a trait-swapping machine. All that needed to be done was to see the person, or swappee, while pressing the button and thinking of what was to be traded between them. The swapper could say the trait he wanted to swap out loud, but that wasn't necessary. The person holding the device would know what had been swapped, but not the other other person. The device could also swap traits between two people who weren't holding the device. Wayne had researched the trait-swapping device. He knew how it worked. Once activated, the device would swap any trait between two people. The person holding the device would know what trait was swapped. This is obvious as he/she was the person causing it to take place. The other person wouldn't know anything had changed. Also, reality would be transformed so no one else would know a trade occurred. All would seem as it it had always been that way. Wayne, a sixteen-year-old boy, as with any new toy wanted to test the device out. At home was his mother, his four-year-old sister, and his baby brother. As this was his first test with the device, he was going to go slow. Wayne decided that what he wanted to do was to see what it was like to become the little princess of the family. He thought it would be fun. But he didn't think it was prudent to point the device at his sister and think, "I want to sap her little princessness with me." Whe knew what that meant. The results from the Trait-Swapping-Device would be unpredictable. If he wanted his goal he would have to swap one trait at a time until he obtained his goal. Wayne planned out what he would need to be treated like the little princess. Wayne didn't want to become the little princess, he simply wanted to be treated that way. That would be fun, everyone treating him like a little princess, especially being treated that way by his father. But knowing that he wasn't any of those things, as he is a grown boy. Once he had his fill, he would swap everything back and return to normal. Wayne decided a good place to start was 'place in the family'. Maybe that would do it. If he had Lilly's place in the family that would make him the little princess in the eyes of everyone. Wayne took his device and walked to Lilly's room. Her door was open and he could see her. Reciprocally, Lilly could see him back. "Wanna play?" she asked. Wayne held the device behind his back so Lilly couldn't see it. "Not right now," Wayne replied as he pressed the button and thought, Place In The Family. "Okay. Then what do you want?" "Nothing." Wayne didn't feel any different. He also didn't notice any changes in regard to Lilly. Despite that, he knew that the device had worked. He needed to test it out. Wayne found his mother who was busy doing laundry and the many other chores she did everyday. "Mommy, I'm bored," Wayne whined. Something he would never say. He had long since stopped calling his mother, Mommy. At his age, he knew how to entertain himself. But what would she say if he swapped places in the family with his little sister? "Oh, sweetheart, I'm sorry. I'm really busy right now. Can you find something to do on your own for a little bit?" Wayne's mother told him. Wayne continued, "But I don't know what to do, Mommy." Wayne tried to surpress a smile, as he called his mother Mommy for the second tim. "Hmm... Well, how about you play with your Xbox in your room? You can practice shooting hoops with your basketball." Both of those were activities that Lilly would never do. "I already played with them. I want to do something else." Wayne wanted to see if his mother would get annoyed and tell him to just act his age. "Okay, um... What about a video? I can see what's on MAX or Amazon Prime." "I don't feel like watching videos right now, Mommy." Wayne didn't know how long he could push it. He was certainly being treated like a child, but not yet like a little princess. "Do you want me to play with you?" "Yes!" "I know, sweetheart, and I wish I could play with you right now. But I really need to finish these chores first. How about you see if Lilly can play with you instead?" "Okay." Wayne was happy with how they went. He would see what else he could do. Mommy, said to play with Lilly, so he would do another swap. This time when stood at her door, he told her, "Mommy says I should play with you." But since she had his place in the family as the 'older sibling' she didn't want to. "I'm busy," she told him. "That's OK." This time he swapped with Lilly all her apparel. As he was looking at Lilly, the first thing he saw was that she was wearing his LA Laker's T-shirt and jeans. Wayne looked down at himself to discover that he was wearing her white round-neck graphic top that proclaimed "Girl Power" with hearts and stars surrounding it and her dull navy leggings with a white polka dot print. The clothes had resized themselves to fit him. After a moment of inspiration, he swapped his hair and hairstyle with his sister. She had his short boyish cut with a part of the left side. His hair had grown to his shoulders. It was parted at the center of his head with two braided pigtails were tied off with rubber bands. He returned to his room. "Time to play dress-up," Wayne said to himself. Before he tried on any clothes, he removed the rubber bands from his hair and removed the braids, then he tied his hair off with lavender hair ties into long strands . Wayne pulled off his top. It wasn't that different from the T-shirt he had been wearing. The only real difference besides the graphic on the chest, was that his top had a round neck instead of the crew neck his T-shirt had. Then he pulled down his leggings. They were made of stretchy cotton similar to sweatpants, except much more form-fitting. His briefs were gone, replaced with girls' panties. The light green panties had a brown and yellow owl design with matching acorns. There wasn't a fly hole in the panties as boys' briefs had. They were just regular panties for a small girl but in his size. Wayne's room looked the same as it always had, but he knew there would be something different in the closet. He opened the closet to find his wardrobe was transformed into Lilly's. He had all her apparel, resized to fit his larger body. He looked through the garments, trying to decide what to wear. He picked out a dress and put it on. Then another. Then he found a white short-sleeved top with a princess surrounded by a gold stars design and puff sleeves. He paired that with a navy above-the-knee flared skirt with an elastic waist. He put both on. Finally, he decided his outfit wouldn't be complete without tights...white ones. He knew in exactly which drawer to find several pairs. He pulled them up his legs. He walked to his drawer and found a lavender crop top with a bunny on it and a pleated skirt. He threw off the apparel he had been wearing and put on this new outfit and smiled. He decided to see what his Mommy thought of his new look.
Wayne passed baby Tommy as he was looking for his mother. Tommy was nine months old and toddling around in his baby walker. He was dressed in a romper with his pacifier hanging from a string around his neck. Tommy's legs might have been strong enough to walk on his own, but in the walker, he wouldn't be getting into too much trouble and he certainly couldn't try to walk upstairs or reach for another on a shelf or a table. "Mommy, I decided to play dress-up. Look what I'm wearing!"
