Geode of Zaaijer Sitting on my bed with my eyes closed, I held the Geode of Zaaijer. I don't know if I allowed my mind to go blank or if I forced it to be that way. Time seemed to both rush by and stand still simultaneously. I was losing contact with my body. I couldn't hear the ordinary noises of cars that drove passed my window. I couldn't feel my bed under my butt or the floor under my feet. I was lost in thought, although I wasn't thinking of anything. The sounds returned. Disappointed, I opened my eyes. I wasn't where I was before, I was floating above the ground although I was still in a sitting position. I saw my room in front of me. I saw the blue walls, the television on its stand. I could see my computer is on its desk over to the left. I looked behind me. Sitting on my bed was my body. I had never seen it from this perspective before. My body was still holding the Geode of Zaaijer. I was floating outside my own body. I smiled in my non-corporeal state. I used my arms to direct myself. I swam in the way I wanted to go. I headed for the door, but it was closed. I tried to open it, but my hand moved through the door as if it was made of air. The door wasn't made of air, in a sense, I was. I exited the room and headed down the hall. It was fun to fly without a body. I could hear everything. I could see everything. I could feel nothing. I navigated myself to the family room. My mother was there. She wasn't doing anything important. She was just watching one of the streaming services. She didn't notice me as I floated between her and the television. I decided to pass through the wall that separated the apartments and found myself in the kitchen of my next-door neighbor. The lights were out. No one was using the room. I passed through the walls. Next to the kitchen in my neighbor's apartment was the bathroom. No one was in there either. Probably a good thing. I continued forward to the next room. It was the bedroom of my neighbor's daughter, Sara. I don't know how old she is: one and a half? Two tops? She's a cute little girl wearing a pink onesie. She must be wearing a diaper underneath. What is happening? She stands on her bed and points. She is looking right at me. Does she see me? No that is impossible. I try and swim away, but I can't. I couldn't feel anything before, but now I feel a force on me. It's like I'm trying to swim against a rushing current. I swim harder. I can't resist the current. I'm being pulled toward the little girl. I can't stop it. My arms are flapping as fast as I am able. My legs are kicking too. It's no use.
I can feel myself entering Sara's little body. My feet cannot kick anymore. They are stuck. I am being pulled down. My eyes are already opened. I'm standing. What's that? Looks like a little baby. But I can see through her. She is moving away from my. I take a step and then another. I fall on the floor. "OWWWWW!" My next door neighbor comes in. She is enormous. She pics me up and rocks me. I try and say something, but she doesn't understand me. "It's OK, It's OK." she says in a soft voice. There was something. It's getting hard to remember. I saw something. I saw something flying. I don't know what. She puts me down under the covers. She closes the lights. I was supposed to remember something. I don't know. End. |
