He Had To Keep Praying
Matt woke to the soft morning light filtering through his curtains, the familiar weight of his blankets across his chest. For a moment everything felt normal-until he sat up. His hands, resting on the sheets, were not his hands. They were smaller, softer, with manicured nails painted a deep burgundy. He stared. Then he looked down. Where his broad chest and flat stomach should have been, there was a full, soft bosom straining against an unfamiliar nightshirt. His waist dipped inward before flaring into wide hips and thick thighs. He was shorter. Softer. Curvier. A petite, plus-size woman’s body had replaced the lean, twenty-three-year-old man’s frame he had gone to sleep in. A strangled sound escaped his throat. He scrambled out of bed, nearly falling when his center of gravity shifted. The mirror above his dresser confirmed it: a pretty, round-faced young woman with short dark hair stared back at him, eyes wide with panic. Red lips. Soft jaw. Completely, undeniably female. He ran. His mother’s bedroom door was half-open. She looked up from her coffee, startled, as the unfamiliar woman burst in. “Who-?” “Mom, it’s me. It’s Matt.” His voice was higher, smoother, and the words came out in a rush. “Something happened. I woke up like this. I swear it’s me.” |
