Preface

Quantum Filaments, here afterward referred to as QUFITs instantly transfer characteristics between two individuals. First recorded in 2015 they recur annually. A previously unknown phenomenon they first appeared on October 31st in Denver, Colorado, United States at approximately 1610 hours local time. Just days ahead of the annual Leonid meteor showers, many amateur astronomers mistakenly claimed they were only part of a highly active cycle of meteor showers or the intense Aurora Borealis. For several days many governments around the world thought it better to allow that explanation to persist rather than admit this was a phenomenon that was unknown to current science and whose impact could not be predicted.

Humans are the only known life forms impacted by the QUFITs. Persons changed by an annual QUFIT fall appear to be wholly immune to any subsequent falls. The transference between individuals can be either physical or mental. The number of changes visited upon a person has ranged from one to eighteen individual "swaps".

Just before 7:00 PM, Carolyn Terry finished her dinner. She needed to take her evening job. She had been jogging for many years. She started in high school and now that she was 28 years old and an executive, she still jobs. Jogging in the morning wasn't an option. She needed that time to get ready for work, after dinner was the best time.

Carolyn was a fit 113 pounds at a height of five-foot-five.

"Luv ya," Carolyn told Peter, the man she shared her home with, as she got up from the table. Peter knew where she was going. He didn't have to be asked to clear the table and put the dishes in the dish washer.

Carolyn's jogs invigorated her. She would often 'cool down' with a sexual romp with her boyfriend. Peter looked forward to Carolyn's jogs as much as she did. It was like a countdown to passion.

Carolyn walked to the bedroom, she had to change out of her business attire and into what she needed for jogging. She carried her suit jacket and took off her matching slacks. They were hung up on a hanger. They would be dropped off at the dry-cleaner with the rest of her worn suits at a later time. Her white blouse went into the hamper along with her bra and nylon panties.
