Six Flags
Mercedes stared at her reflection, frustrated. At nearly 40 years old and with a plus-sized figure that she had grown to love, she still found it difficult to accurately judge how outfits truly looked on her. The lavender-purple corset top with its delicate floral embroidery and semi-sheer lace panels seemed perfect on the hanger, but something was lost in translation when she tried it on herself. The mirror simply wasn't telling the truth about how these pieces truly looked when worn properly. "Barry!" she called out to her 18-year-old son who was scrolling through his phone in the living room. "I need your help with something important." Barry looked up, unimpressed. "What now, Mom?" "I need you to try on an outfit for me. Just for a little while." Mercedes held up the lavender-purple lingerie-style corset crop top with its structured boning and ruffled tulle shoulder straps. Barry's jaw dropped. "No way. I'm not wearing that." "Please? I'll take you to Six Flags if you do this for me." Mercedes knew this was her trump card. Barry had been begging to go for months but still didn't have his driver's license. He hesitated, then sighed. "Fine. But you owe me big time." With a quick chant and a flash of light that Mercedes had learned from an old spellbook, they switched bodies. Barry-now in his mother's form-reluctantly began dressing. For hours, Mercedes had Barry try on outfit after outfit, but nothing seemed quite right. Finally, at about 1:00, she found the perfect combination. |
