Mom made some homemade iced tea and put an elixir into it that made the drinker highly suggestible. She encouraged her thirteen-year-old son to have some tea dinner and then later before he went to bed. After he fell asleep, Mom placed a recording into Tommy's room which announced phrases like, "You wish you were born a girl," "You want to wear pretty clothes," "Although some boys are cute, you don't like to do the things they do." These and other phrases were repeated scores of times throughout the night.

Mom didn't know how Tommy would incorporate these suggestions into his personality, but she knew Tommy would be acting differently in the morning. Mom couldn't wait to see the results when Tommy woke up.

Mom woke up early and made breakfast for herself and Tommy. She braced herself for any changes. She didn't want to act like anything he said was odd.

When Mom saw him for the first time, Tommy looked the same as he always had. Which disappointed her. She looked him over closely for any indication that the hypnosis had worked.

Tommy: Hey Mom, can I ask you something?

Mom: Of course, sweetie. What's on your mind?

Tommy: Well, I've been thinking... how do you use makeup?

Even though Mom was overjoyed, she tried to act nonchalant. She wanted to sound supportive, not excited.

Mom: Ah, makeup! Sure, I can show you. Are you interested in trying some out?

Tommy: Yeah, I guess so. I mean, I've never really thought about it before, but some of the kids at school wear it, and it looks kinda cool.

Mom noticed that he didn't say girls, Tommy said kids instead. Mom knew that Tommy meant the girls.

Mom: Absolutely! Makeup can be a fun way to express yourself. Lots of kids wear them. Let's start with the basics. First, you'll need to choose the right products for your skin type and tone. We can go to the store together and pick out some things that will work for you.

Tommy: Okay, sounds good. But I have no idea how to put it on.

Mom: Don't worry! We'll start with something simple, like a tinted moisturizer or light foundation to even out your skin tone. Then, we can add a bit of blush to give your cheeks a healthy glow. And if you're feeling adventurous, we can experiment with eyeshadow and mascara too.

Tommy: Hmm, I'm not sure about all that. The tinted moisturizer seems cool. I don't want to look all made up. I just want to...

Mom cut him off. Maybe suggesting too many things was pushing it at this point. She could build up slowly. Today they would start with light makeup. In a month or two Tommy will be spelling his name Tommie and wearing blouses and skirts to school and needs at least half an hour in the morning to paint his face.

Mom: That's okay! You don't have to use everything at once. Makeup is all about personal preferences, so we can tailor it to what you're comfortable with. And remember, it's totally okay to make mistakes. Practice makes perfect!

Tommy: Thanks, Mom. I guess it could be fun to try something new.

Tommy: Yeah, maybe! Thanks for being cool about it, Mom.

Mom stood up and headed toward the front door.

Tommy: Where are you going? I haven't finished breakfast yet.

Mom: I got a little ahead of myself. I was going to go to the drugstore to buy the products that will highlight your face the best.

Tommy: After breakfast.

Tommy couldn't believe his mother was so cool with this.
