Julio had always been protective of his younger sister, Sarah. When Sarah introduced her new boyfriend, Mark, Julio's instincts screamed that something was off. He seemed too smooth, too charming---like someone hiding an agenda. Sarah, as bubbly and optimistic as ever, dismissed Julio's concerns, but Julio couldn't shake his gut feeling. So, when Sarah went out of town for a week and asked Julio to check in on her house, Julio saw an opportunity.

He was going to expose Mark for the fraud he believed him to be.

--- The Plan

Julio used the Glam. It was a magic object that would alter Julio's apparent appearance to anything he wanted. No one would see his true appearance, only how he wanted to appear. Julio set the glam to make him appear as Sarah. It didn't matter that Sarah was younger than him, shorter than him and a woman, as far as anyone would see, he would look exactly like Sarah.

Julio rummaged through Sarah's closet, pulling out the pink floral sundress that screamed "Sarah," along with matching accessories. He layered on Sarah's favorite necklace, spritzed himself with Sarah's signature jasmine perfume, and styled his hair in loose waves. By the time Julio was done with his makeup---a bit too heavy in his opinion---he was the spitting image of his sister. The final touch was adding a light, airy tone to his speaking style as he called Mark.

"Hey, Mark, it's me! My trip got canceled. Want to grab dinner tonight?"

Mark sounded delighted, which only fueled Julio's determination to unmask him.

--- The Date

Julio met Mark at a cozy Italian restaurant downtown. The atmosphere was perfect, with dim lighting and soft music. As they talked, Julio forced himself to adopt Sarah's animated and girly mannerisms, laughing at Mark's jokes and twirling his hair. It was exhausting to maintain, but he kept it up, determined to see through his plan.

But then something unexpected happened. Mark wasn't the arrogant player he'd imagined. He was attentive, kind, and funny in a way that seemed genuinely heartfelt. He asked Julio---well, "Sarah"---about his interests, and when he slipped into his natural self, talking about hiking and his love for vintage cars, Mark didn't bat an eye. In fact, he seemed even more interested.

Julio wanted to abandon the evening, but he couldn't. He was stuck acting the part of Sarah. He had to see the night through.

By the end of the night, Julio found himself smiling for real, charmed by Mark's stories and his easy laughter. This wasn't supposed to happen.

--- The Shift

When Mark dropped Julio off at Sarah's house, Julio invited him in, desperate to spend more time with him. He told himself it was part of his plan, but deep down, he knew the truth. He wasn't pretending anymore. He enjoyed Mark's company---and, to his surprise, he seemed to enjoy his too.
