The Hypnotist Hypnotist: "Alright, ladies and gentlemen, for my next act, I'm going to need a brave volunteer from the audience. Who's up for a bit of fun?" The crowd murmurs, and a man eagerly raises his hand. He is sitting at a table for two with a pretty woman. Man: "Pick me! I'll do it!" Hypnotist: "Excellent! Come on up, sir. Now, what's your name?" Man: "I'm Mike." Hypnotist: "Alright, Mike, have you ever been hypnotized before?" Mike: "Nope, never!" Hypnotist: "Well, you're in for a treat. Now, just relax and focus on my voice. With each word I say, you'll find yourself sinking deeper and deeper into a state of relaxation." The hypnotist begins his routine, using a combination of soothing words and gestures to induce a trance-like state in Mike. Hypnotist: "Mike, you believe everything I say. When I count down from three to one, you will open your eyes and you are going to truly believe in every single way that you are my assistant. You have been working for me as my hypnotic assistant for years. Nod your head if you understand." Mike nods his head. Hypnotist: "And a count of three, two, one." With a snap of his fingers, the hypnotist triggers Mike's new belief. Hypnotist: "What are you doing? You know we have a show. Aren't you dressed?" Mike: "I'm sorry, Sir." Hypnotist: "Go backstage and get dressed. I'll keep the audience entertained until you are back." Mike: Right away, Sir." Mike scampers off. His hands are in the air as he runs. He holds up the hem of the imaginary dress he is wearing. Hypnotist: "I'm sorry, Ladies and Gentlemen, but my assistant assured me that she would be right back. I guess I can do some card tricks while we are waiting." Hypnotist: "Alright, folks, welcome back my lovely assistant." When Mike returned to the stage, he was wearing a woman's leotard that looked like a black tuxedo with a light-pink shirt and bow tie, white tights, and black shoes with three-inch heels. He is moving like a dancer on heels.
The audience claps. Hypnotist: "How are you feeling?" Mike: "I'm ready to go." Hypnotist: "Great. Usually, I'm looking for volunteers, but tonight I think I'll pick one of my audience at random. How does that sound?" Mike: "You're the boss." Hypnotist: "Mike, you see that woman sitting alone? She looks lonely, why not ask her to come on stage." Mike walks down the steps off the stage into the audience. He goes to the table where he had been sitting minutes before. Mike: "Would you like to join us on stage?" Andrea: "No, I think I'll stay here." Hypnotist: "Awe come on. Don't be afraid." The audience applauds. Mike: "Come and join us." Hypnotist: "I promise I won't make you act like a chicken." Andrea: "I don't think so." Hypnotist: "Awe come on. Everyone wants to see you up here. Don't you?" The audience applauds. Andrea: "I guess it will be alright." Hypnotist: "What's your name?" Andrea: "Andrea." The hypnotist begins his routine, using the same combination of soothing words and gestures to induce a trance-like state as he did with Mike. Hypnotist: "Should we make her act like a chicken?" The audience hoots with laughter. Both Mike and his wife are back in a hypnotic trance. Hypnotist: "Mike and Andrea listen to me and believe me because all I say is true. Mike is twice as feminine as Andrea. Mike is a fashion diva and loves to flirt with men. Mike and Andrea, you are roommates and the best of friends. When I count to three, both of you will wake up. Mike you won't remember being hypnotized at all. Andrea, you will flap your arms, make clucking sounds, and in general act like a chicken. One...Two...Three." Andrea, now fully convinced of his avian identity, begins to flap her arms and strut around the stage, much to the amazement and amusement of the audience. Mike rangles Andrea around the stage. The hypnotist snapped his fingers and Andrea returned to normal. Hypnotist: "And there you have it, folks! Let's give it up for Andrea the Chicken, the star of the show!" The audience erupted in laughter. Hypnotist: "Andrea you can cluck and strut back to your seat, while Mike and I continue with the show." Andrea: "You promised." Hypnotist: "I'm sorry, it won't happen again." Andrea did as requested. Mike continued to act like the hypnotist's assistant doing whatever the hypnotist asked him to do. At the end of the show, the hypnotist and Mike took a bow and exited the stage. Hypnotist: "Mike that was the last straw. Late again! You're fired!" Mike: "But, I..." Hypnotist: "No excuses. I don't want to see you anymore. Get dressed and go." The apparel that Mike had worn to the show was still in the dressing room, but Mike exited the theater wearing a light-blue sundress, T-shirt bra, thong panties, and blue flats. Mike saw Andrea waiting for him in his car, Andrea: "That was so embarrassing. Don't make me do that again." Mike: "You don't have to worry about that. I was just fired." Andrea: "For what?" Mike: "Being late." Andrea: "I'm so sorry." Mike: "It's still early. Let's go to the club." Andrea: "Are you sure?" Mike: "Yeah, I'll find a man and dance. Tomorrow, I'll look for a new job." End. |
