Wonderfully Normal 3
Mr. Maxwell leaned back in his executive chair and pressed the intercom. "Sandra, prepare the Normalizer. I have a special project this afternoon." His secretary's voice came through crisp and professional: "Right away, Mr. Maxwell." He drummed his fingers on the mahogany desk, contemplating the quarterly review meeting scheduled for three o'clock-the one his executive vice presidents had specifically requested he not attend. They claimed they needed to speak candidly about departmental challenges without the pressure of the CEO's presence. Maxwell had agreed, but something gnawed at him. Were they being honest in their reports, or were they telling him only what he wanted to hear? The Normalizer would give him the truth. A brief transformation into a junior executive, an unremarkable face in the conference room, and he would hear exactly what his leadership team said when they thought he wasn't listening.
